Lime Pepper Butter Chicken
Pollo a la mantequilla con lima y pimienta
Golden, juicy chicken coated in a simple, glossy citrus-butter sauce. A one-skillet dinner with La Cítrica as the star.
Serves: 2–3 Prep: 5 min Cook: 12–15 min
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tsp La Cítrica seasoning
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
- Salt to taste
- Up to 2 tbsp water, if needed to loosen the sauce
Instructions
- Slice the chicken breasts horizontally into thin cutlets and pat dry.
- Sprinkle both sides with La Cítrica and salt.
- Heat the EVOO in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for 4–5 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until golden and 165°F (74°C) internally.
- Lower the heat and add the butter. Let it melt gently, scraping up the browned bits. Add 1–2 tbsp water only if needed to make a light sauce.
- Spoon the citrus butter over the chicken for 30 seconds, then serve with the pan sauce.
What makes it different
La Cítrica combines lime, garlic, onion, cilantro, and pepper. Butter and EVOO make a rich, uncomplicated sauce—no extra seasoning mix or broth needed.
Serve it with fluffy rice, roasted potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a crisp salad.
